Charity Project Report 2022 Make a DonationsOur Commitment to Charity
Since its founding in 2001, charitable work has been at the heart of the Maris Stella College OBA UK. Over more than two decades, the association has supported numerous projects and initiatives aimed at helping those in need.
In the early years, the OBA primarily supported charity projects organised by the college. In recent years, however, the association has developed its own dedicated charity agenda, taking a more active role in identifying and delivering meaningful support to communities in Sri Lanka.
Transparency and Accountability
As a reputable organisation, the OBA places great importance on maintaining transparency and strict accountability over its charity funds. To uphold these standards, a dedicated charity committee was established, along with a separate bank account solely for charitable income and expenditure.
How We Raise Funds
The OBA’s charity fund is supported by contributions from members, their families, friends and connected sponsors. In addition, the membership has committed to allocating a generous percentage of the association’s annual income towards charitable projects.
At the 2021 AGM, a further decision was made to launch an annual fundraising event, ensuring greater and more consistent support for future charity initiatives.
Through these efforts, the Maris Stella College OBA UK continues to make a lasting difference, one project at a time.
